Fishergate Central Gateway project and Winckley Square

News: July 17th, 2013.

As part of a multi-million pound project to enhance a number of entrance ways, junctions and roads in Preston city centre, Lancashire County Council has recently completed works along Corporation Street and Ringway, resulting in improved pedestrian crossings and pavements. The next phase is scheduled to start on August 19 along Fishergate by Lune Street.. Read more.

Have more say on Winckley Square’s future

A second round of consultation on the future of Winckley Square is now underway. The exercise is being conducted by environmental regeneration charity, Groundwork, and will determine the vision of the Square, which is set to be revealed later this summer. The regeneration specialist was appointed by the Winckley Square Community Interest Company (WSCIC) earlier. Read more.

Councils team up to find a solution for Winckley Square drainage problems

Lancashire County Council and Preston City Council have teamed up to look at how to resolve the drainage problems in the park at Winckley Square. Investigations are being undertaken in partnership with the Winckley Square Community Interest Company (WSCIC) and Groundwork as they prepare to launch their vision for the Square in August. Winckley Square hosts second business hangout

The Business Improvement District, is holding its second Winckley Square business hangout. It is taking place on July 25, between 4pm and 6pm, in a marquee in the centre of the historic Georgian square. Fresh from the success of the first event in October last year, the ‘Winckley Square Washing Line’ will also be making. Read more.
